Hello and welcome back! Whether you're a longtime reader or coming here for the first time from the Lovely Lounon, I'm excited to see you! Thanks for checking out our hop.
Last time, we went with our newest purchase. This time, we decided to pick something that had been in our stash at least two years and had not been used.
I like to think that I'm pretty good at using things shortly after I buy them, but sometimes life gets busy and the order comes in the mail right when I have no time and no mojo and, next thing you know, it's been overshadowed by the latest and greatest. I was grateful for the opportunity to rectify that!
I will say there were three major contributions to today's card design. The first is a bit of injury to one of my hands. This meant that a lot of coloring, fussy cutting, etc. would just be difficult for me to accomplish. I was also (as usual) under a time crunch. My professional life is incredibly hectic right now (even for me!) and I struggled to find time for a card at all, much less an intricate one. But the third contributor is probably the most interesting. As I've documented, I've been transferring my stamps and dies to binders so I can flip through them easily. In my second binder, I found the Hero Arts Circle Confetti Fancy Die (a cover plate). Immediately across from it was the Simon Says Stamp Good Vibes die and instantly my brain made magic!
This was overall a very simple card to make. I started by ink blending a card front (Roy G. Biv to the rescue!). I die cut the confetti cover plate and glued it over the card front. I then took a smaller section of cardstock and ink blended that before cutting out Good Vibes. To make it pop a touch more, I used the shadow background that came with it, cut simply out of white cardstock. All glued down, and I have good vibes indeed!
I love how this card has turned out! If I am your first stop on the hop, then you should really keep going to see the amazing creations of my fellow Squirrel Squad! Your next stop: the Creative Karen!
