Welcome to those of you coming from the amazing Bory, as well as those of you who regularly visit! Yep! The Squirrel Squad and I are back with another hop! As I'm sure you recall, each month we focus on a supply we've been squirreling away or a technique we haven't given a lot of time to. We also choose a theme to work around. This month we wanted to focus on celebratory cards with galaxy backgrounds! I was immediately inspired!
I LOVE holidays and recently I have developed a love for Halloween! This means an assortment of Halloween stamps and such that just don't get used as much as they should. However, I also wanted to make a birthday card for a long time friend of mine who is celebrating this month. Nothing to do but make a few!
For the first one, I blended on the different colors I wanted in the night sky. I darkened everything down with black, then added silhouette die cuts of buildings from Venice (or I suppose anywhere really). I'd loved these die cuts from a Hero Arts kit, but never actually used them. I finally added some silver heat embossed fireworks to really add to the celebratory feeling!
Next, I wanted to use those Halloween stamps. This card uses a Close to My Heart set that a friend destashed to me. While I have used this one before, once again I haven't used it nearly enough considering how much I love it. This one has an accompanying process video on TikTok that you can watch here (and learn how to make a galaxy background).
My last card is sort of cheating when it comes to squirreled away supplies. You see, I went to Michael's for something I SWEAR I needed and it's not my fault they had a buy one get two free sale on 12x12 paper pads. It would have been irresponsible for me to NOT buy some! And one was Halloween, so I flipped through and saw this amazing acetate paper and knew I immediately had to make this card I envisioned. Want to see how it's done? Check out this TikTok!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations! There is WAY more inspiration to come! Just keep hopping along! Next stop: the brilliant and talented Lounon! if you love what we're doing, please leave a comment! We love it even more when you subscribe!
