I've popped a video on YouTube today to show you how I organize my stamps! I promised I would include a list of categories with further details here!
First, if you haven't seen the video, here you go!
Now, to develop the categories, I briefly perused my stamps and dies and started noting what trends I saw the most. I wanted to make sure my categories were fairly thorough and logical. I also wanted to make sure there was NO miscellaneous category. Trust me: if you give yourself that out, you will take it. Next thing you know, you have 30 pages of miscellaneous. Finally, I decided to just go for it. After all, each category starts its own sheet of cardstock this means that not only is this system infinitely expandable for any time I add a design, it also means that putting in a new category is as simple as starting a new sheet.
Without further ado, my categories (with explanations when necessary)!
- animals
- architecture (fireplaces, doors, park benches, signs, lanterns)
- banners/labels/tags
- birthday/celebration
- celestial (stars, comets)
- Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year
- containers (snow globes, vases, cups and mugs)
- craft-related
- embellishments (little bows, labels, smaller patterns, tiny single stamps)
- flowers, leaves, trees, plants
- food and beverage
- geometric/shapes (random shapes, including in patterns)
- Halloween
- hearts
- international/travel-related
- music
- nautical
- people
- seasons
- sentiments/words

- vintage
Of course if you have any questions about the categories, feel free to ask! What categories would you add?
