Ah, the things 2020 derailed, like Mix It Mondays and my ode to tequila! Well, while I am not where I thought I would be on this series for January, who is in this crazy world? So let's keep mixing it up and let me introduce you to another tequila drink!
Let's be honest: this is a margarita with some Chambord mixed in. There is no shame in taking something you already love and adding more flavors. So to get you started, you will need:
3 ozs. tequila
1.5 ozs bottled lime juice
1 oz. simple syrup
1/2 oz Chambord
Ice for the cocktail shaker
You will also need some basic barware. For this, you will need:
A shot glass with actual .5 ounce markings
A cocktail shaker
A martini or margarita glass
As always, prep is simple! You merely fill the cocktail shaker with all your ingredients, shake vigorously until the shaker is frosty, then decant into the glass. Couldn't be simpler!
Ok, ok. I know what you're thinking: margaritas tend to have a salted rim. And you could certainly do that with this as well. But as longtime readers know. I like to keep it simple for all levels of home bartending. HOWEVER: if you would like to add a fancy rim, you'll need a fresh lime. Cut a slice and run the slice around the rim. You will then dip the rim into a saucer of salt or sugar. I HIGHLY recommend sugar for this! Now there: aren't you fancy!
