There's not a lot I know as I start this week, but I'll tell you what I do know: it's time to mix another drink!
We are still working with whiskey, but my heart and soul demand something sweeter and this is where a delightful concoction I call the Central Park Sunset comes in. The taste and color take me back to the magic, complexity, vibrancy, and seemingly endless possibilities of a city I spent a brief 24 hours in.
Requiring only 4 ingredients, there is no excuse for me to not mix one up. Join me, won't you? All you need is:
1.5 oz whiskey or bourbon
1 oz (bottled) lime juice
1 teaspoon sugar
.5 oz grenadine syrup
Lucky for you, this also requires only the tiniest bit of barware:
A shot glass with actual .5 ounce markings
A tumbler glass for serving
To conjure your own sunset, simply pour all the ingredients into the glass, give it a good stir, then add some ice. To do anything else would be showing off. Frankly no one has patience for more right now.
You probably have enough to fix another one. They go down easy and don't make much. Go on: indulge.
Of course there's always the joy of sharing a sunset with someone else. Or at the very least, you can share this post. (That was smooth, amiright?)
Cheers! Salud! Prost! Slainte! Soupy twist!
