I have caught some sort of gunk that makes many things a challenge. Mostly the little things, like breathing and sleeping. While I have been posting about wellness-related items on Wednesdays, I could hardly do that while I'm sick, right? That's how black holes are made. UNLESS, of course, I'm posting about my hot toddy.
My perfect, throat-soothing, congestion-easing, sleep-inducing hot toddy. And I thought, "well kid, there's your answer." Sometimes I talk to myself like I'm a 1920s gangster. Anyway....
To make your own" Best Hot Toddy", you will need:
1 mug hot water
1 Earl Grey tea bag
2 ounces whiskey (I use Jack Daniels)
1 Tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
Putting it together is of course just as simple as it would need to be in such trying circumstances. Steep your tea bag for 5 minutes and then dispose of it. Pour in your whiskey, honey, and lemon juice, stir it all up, and sip, sip, sip!
Now I think it goes without saying that this has alcohol in it. If you are already on medication that can't interact with alcohol (including over-the-counter cold remedies), then you should NOT prepare yourself a hot toddy. If, however, you're like me and stubborn and taking nothing whatsoever, then this might just be the thing for you!
Let me know in the comments if you try this hot toddy or if there are any other home remedies you can suggest to help kick this sickness to the curb!
