As we wrap up February, we have room for one final recipe with vodka and Chambord. We have plumbed the depths of sweet and tart. Now I want to check out crisp, and I know just how to get us there.
The delightful thing about Chambord is that it makes a wonderful sweet. That also means it can hold its own against ingredients with a more tart taste (as you experienced in the Adult Berry Lemonade). It felt only natural to pair it with some easy non-alcoholic bubbles in the form of club soda. What is club soda? Well besides being the 1950s house wife go-to for all things stain removal, it is a carbonated water with a smidge of salt added to mimic the taste of mineral water. It is readily available at any grocery store and, in my experience, is pretty hard to screw up, meaning you can buy the brand that feels right for you and your wallet. You will want to get friendly with this ingredient since it will show up more and more when we want a few zesty bubbles in our drink.
To get crispy, you will need:
1 oz Vodka
1 oz.Chambord (generous pour)
Club soda
Ice for shaking and for the glass
You will also need some basic barware. For this, you will need:
A shot glass with actual .5 ounce markings
A cocktail shaker
A highball glass for serving
As usual, putting it together is so simple! In your ice-filled shaker, combine the vodka and Chambord. Give it all a few rattling shakes and strain into your ice-filed highball glass. Top with club soda and settle back for a delightful dance on your tongue!
I can't wait to see you next week when I introduce you to March's alcohol and the wonderful recipes we will try then!
Cheers! Salud! Prost! Slainte! Soupy twist!
